Get involved with the World Junior Badminton Championship 2018! Volunteers will be an essential part of the success of this competition. You will be the public face of this Championship as we welcome athletes, coaches, officials, partners, and VIPs from around the world!
We will be recruiting approximately 200 Volunteers to help deliver 2 exciting weeks of badminton at the Markham Pan Am Centre. Volunteers will be needed from November 3-18, 2018.
General Volunteers must be a minimum of 14 years of age. Students currently enrolled in secondary or post-secondary school are required to provide a minimum of 20 hours. All other General Volunteers are required to provide a minimum commitment of 40 hours. Medical Volunteers must be a member of their professional association and commit to a minimum of 32 hours, four 8-hour shifts.
Some Volunteers will be required to submit a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check at their expense. Volunteers are responsible for any travel and accommodation costs as a result of your volunteer role.
All Volunteers will be provided training to ensure that they have the information needed to carry out their roles. You could be a volunteer in the areas of transportation, accreditation, security, ceremonies, communications, or player services just to name a few.
